Description

Lord Brahma the creator led to the birth of the lake during his fight with the demon Vajranabha by dropping petals of his weapon, the lotus flower. Where each petal fell, a spring emerged, the biggest of the 3 streams being the main Pushkar lake. The lake is believed to be a manifestation of Brahma himself. Surrounded by beauiful mountains, 52 ghats, more than 100 temples on the lake, out of the 500 temples in Pushkar, in a small intimate city of 21,000 people. A Parikrama- a spiritual circumambulation around a sacred center, usually clockwise- is a ritual marking the end of worship, done with a meditative mood in order to imbibe their energy. You can also experience this as a virtual heritage walk in the middle of Pushkar and enjoy its natural and cultural offerings. Join the enthusiastic Inder Narayan Sharma- a national level certified guide and a palmist. He hails from Pushkar.
