It is easy to spot cheerful and friendly locals dressed in colourful clothes and pagdis/ turbans.
The Pushkar town is located right next to Ajmer city- famous for Dargah Sharif that attracts visitors from all faiths across the country and the world. It is considered to be among the holiest Muslim shrines in India , built by Mughal King Humayun, in honour of the Persian Sufi saint Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chishti. The Sufi shrine is also known for its enthusiastic qawwalis that are sung for visitors after evening prayer. Another attraction in Ajmer city is Ana Sagar lake. The artificial waterbody was built between 1135 and 1150 AD and is spread over a grand 13 square kilometres. See more attractions in the Jana Indica “Places” bottom menu.
