A most revered shrine of the pious 13th<\/sup> century Sufi saint, Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, is celebrated amongst the devotees as a place where all wishes of a pure heart are granted. The dargah was most revered by generations of Mughal Emperors and hence was beautified by many, each adding a layer to the complex. The main tomb is enshrined under the beautiful marble dome. An old gate, Shah Jahani gate was donated by Emperor Shah Jahan and a beautiful silver gate, used on rare occasions is called the Jannati Darwaza. The Dargah also offers sacred meals during Eid and other occasions to hundreds of people. The meals are prepared in story high pans called degs, bigger donated by Akbar and the smaller donated by Jehangir. The complex is laden with layres of history and reverence.
